About me

As a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I abide by their code of ethics and professional conduct. I am also a member of the British Psychological Society and on the General Hypnotherapy Register.
I obtained my BSc (Hons) in Psychology in 2005 and my Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling in 2007 from Brighton University. I went on to complete an MA in Psychotherapeutic Counselling also at Brighton University last year.
I previously worked in the hotel, exhibition and PR industries but decided to embark upon a new phase of my life in 2001. Raising a family had changed me and I wanted to do something useful with the experiences I had had in life. I was drawn towards the world of psychology and then became interested in counselling and psychotherapy. My first working experience of this was as a crisis telephone line volunteer for Refuge, the domestic violence charity. As I continued with my post graduate training, I began working as a placement counsellor for a Kent refuge and then for an NHS addictions clinic in Crawley and a GP surgery in Kent. I spent several years working for the NHS and in secondary schools and currently work in private practice.
